Andy Frasco and band second benefit concert was last night at the Rock N Soul in Boulder Colorado This was a night filled with spectacular music and great showmanship! by one and all!!
Nick OConnor was first up and put on a explosive show filled with passion and emotion true to his music form. A great vocalist backed by a great band, bringing out new songs for the occaision.
Stuart Ehrlich, filled the next spot with humor and a stunning accoustic show. He is truly a great man with a gentle heart and love for the music.
Andy Frasco had the crowd from the minute he walked in the room. Emcee’g the show for Rock N Soul, Andy showed his appreciation for the folks coming out to support the VH1 Saves The Music Foundation Entertaining the audience with great sense of music and creating a tangible organic experience for all. This is the only way to describe the whole experience, a quirky sense of humor, and encouraged on by band mates. bringing on the Brent from Nick OConnor’s band to share the stage. Andy is a talent all to himself creating new music and lyrics as he proceeds through the show. You are never sure where he is going to take you…but you know you are having a great time and you want the show to continue.
Pure genius! Andy and his band also received a standing ovation for the night and asked…no begged to play longer… giving the crowd more of what they were begging for! Leaving the show, you felt like friends… and hated to see them go.
They will be appearing one last time in the Denver area at the Walnut Room! Do please come out and be thouroughly entertained.
Pandora Box Closing….. Really???
Have you read the Washington Post article on Aug. 18th, reporting that Pandora one of the largest, if not the largest internet radio stations which boast a listener base of 100,000 at any given time and new listeners in the thousands coming on board daily…
Hmm…. Pandora is being hit hard having to pay higher royalities to the artist,,,, the higher royalty rates are putting them under some financial hardship We can all appreciate what is happening in the music arena today, but you have to ask yourself, what is right here? I think that it comes back to paying the royalities to the artist. Pandora won’t fail, they will subsidize with advertising or have folks pay more for their service.
In the end, the right thing here is paying the royalities due the aritst. I work with many artists that must maintain a day job to keep the music that we enjoy … sounds like Pandora needs to look for other options, to support themselves..
No Brainer here folks…

Here is more of the story about one of my bands…Contrary to the name this band has not Flatlined with all the problems they have experienced. on the tour… what has happened so far would put some bands down for the count… But, Jimi,Wes, Brad and Chris once again show us that “the show must go on” and these guys do it with a light hearted spirit… that just make you smile and say Job well done!!! Please remember that they are sleeping in the van on this tour… and now they are sleeping with the gear….
Here is the latest chapter…
If after you have watched this and are so moved… drop them a few dollars in their paypal account to help them out… jimibattle@gmail.com These guys will be forever grateful!

The Trailer – The Prick – The Police
our van is sweet. you all know it to be true… so sweet in fact that the alternator decided to stop working in a parking lot in calgary… we got our friends leanne and jana (thank you two wonderful women) to come and help us out. they helped by charging our battery with their car – following us for 5km or so until the battery was dead, and charging it up again.. took 3 charges to get to the club, but we made it! feeling a little bummed about the alternator thing, we unloaded and set up in the club.
we are relaxing have a pint, forgetting about the van and prepping for the show when a waitress runs over and informs us our trailer might have just been hit by a car. we high tail it outside – fast..
what we found there made four grown men cry. a smashed left wheel cowling, sideways rim and flat tire… some fuck head had plowed into our trailer while parked on the side of the road (legally i will add – for those of you that know our technics, this time was legit). a crowd of onlookers proceeded to tell us the story over and over – probably because of the vacant expressions of hopelessness in our eyes..
apparently a chubby black dude in a white ford explorer flew into our van. now this might be slightly illegal – but if you are from calgary read the next part very carefully:
the licence plate of the white ford explorer (another witness said it might have been silver) was either:
ABBEY K or
ABEBE K
if you know this person please follow them and find out where they live. there will most likely be damage to the front right fender of the vehicle. they hit our trailer and ran off. thats right – fucker got out of his vehicle, surveyed the damage, then proceeded to leave the scene. now the cops are looking for this person – and if they find him he is in a heap of trouble – but as of yet we haven’t gotten the call.
problem for us is that we are in way more trouble without a trailer then the dude that hit us… without his insurance we are unable to get our trailer fixed or replaced.. so until we find this guy we are in trouble – help us find this fucker if you are from or live in calgary!
back to the story – i digressed with vigilante anger there for a second…
we surveyed our van and found that the hitch on the van itself was damaged. this lead us to believe that the impact must have been impressively strong considering the hitch is made of 2 inch steal and rated for 5500 pounds. knowing now the guy didn’t just glance off the tire, that he hit it like a sledghammer we check the frame of the trailer. its toast.. bent and warpped bad – which usually leads to a write off..
the trailer and van were towed that night – to seperate locations. van to have its alternator replaced, and the trailer to an impound where its future will be decided later. jana was nice enough to let us sleep at her place – but we only rested for about 2 hours before starting the next day of figuring out how the fuck to stay on tour…
in order for us to continue the tour we have had to pack all 4 guys, gear and luggae into th van alone. imagine taking something thats 200 sq feet and squeezing it into an area 150sq feet with four dudes and 8 bags… i have no idea how we did it.. but we are still on the road – albeit uncomfortably…
